Flipper delay on core duo macbook
Hi, Purchased this ( Pinball HD ) last night and am experiencing flipper delay and stuttering which makes it unplayable. Suggestions?

Re: Flipper delay on core duo macbook
You can try this when keys don't seem to work properly:
In System Preferences >> Keyboard, ensure that the 'Delay Until Repeat' is active, and not set to off.
However, this may be a more general issue. When you mention 'stuttering', are you referring to controls (such as flippers), or is the entire game visually 'stuttering'?

Re: Flipper delay on core duo macbook
Thanks for you reply. The action is very slow and the flippers react about a half second after being activated. In other words, the ball moves very slowly.

Re: Flipper delay on core duo macbook
We have seen some performance issues with some earlier Intel integrated graphics.
A possible remedy: From the Pinball HD application menu, select Pinball HD >> Preferences... and set Anti-Aliasing to Off. That should lighten the video load some and may help.

Anti aliasing already off. So it's a hardware problem? I assumed it would work when downloaded as there were no warnings otherwise.

Re: Flipper delay on core duo macbook
Okay, good that you've already tried anti-aliasing. Unfortunately, the best news that I have for you from the development team is that we are actively engaged in adding more setup options for graphics, to try to better support available devices/platforms. We would certainly like to let users know about any problems in advance, but although we test on a variety of devices, surprises still pop up.
Can you tell us your graphics hardware and what year your Macbook is?

Re: Flipper delay on core duo macbook
Thank you. I'm trying to locate any additional information that could be related to your problem. This thread discusses video (and audio) stuttering with Duo Cores. Note: If you only experience this problem within the game, then it may not be related: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jsp ... 0&tstart=0These guys discuss symptoms and odd solutions. Sounds like some systems may be accumulating static, or there may be an issue with later OS versions. It may not pertain to your case, but I'm passing it along in case it could help.
