My favorite pinball machine is Pirates of the Carribian pinball. I know that the movies are copy writed so you can not recreate the game based off of the films, but I can picture a fantastic pirates themed pinball.
I also can picture a fantastic space themed pinball. One thing that could be done with this because the table is electonic the table could change. For example when a player shoots the ball into a black hole the ball could fly into space and the board could change into a different theme for that planet. It would take more time to program so it might only make swnce to have two boards: one for an alien planet and one for deep space. A player could then shoot the black hole target to switch boards.
Thanks so much for letting us fans give you input. I have been a huge fan of your pinball games since the first WW pinball.

Hockey themed pinball. Maybe make it so you can select your favorite team or something like that.

That would be cool. I like the customizability. If gameprom were to make that idea I would like to see is that instead of a ball they could use a small hockey puck that would glide across the pinball table like it is from a game of air hockey. This could create a fun new experience that would bring the physics of an air hockey table to a pinball machine and add to the game's theming. I am sure that translating the look/sound/feel of an air hockey table's physics into the pinball game would require more programing effort, but I am sure it would be worth it and would make the game stand out. Another thing that could be done with this theming is that a multi ball could be called a power play.

If there were a las vegas themed pinball then one of the targets should be a roulette wheel that the pinball can drop into and spin around in.

I think a "rollercoaster theme" would be awesome. With many lights, a big table etc.

VINTAGE 1960's SPACE FLIGHT THEME

I'm a big spaceflight history and a space art enthusiast. How about a Russian space exploration theme, or a Space Race theme? Include elements such as Sputnik, Laika, Gagarin/Vostok, first space walk, etc. "Launch" to the Moon and jump to a new "orbit" (a new table as suggested by others) to "land" on the Lunar surface with Lunokhod rover and the Soviet manned lander that didn't quite get there and finally plant the hammer and sickle banner into the Moon's soil.

Svolskiy, the developer, is Russian, correct? What do you think?

I like David's idea a lot, and I'd buy it the day it was released. Excellent idea.

The problem with a some of the other ideas (like the hockey, TV themed) is that the material would have to be licensed. That pretty much rules out the chance of it being possible, as licensing isn't cheap, or easy.

I agree. I just realized how awful the hockey theme could be if it did not have the authentic licensed logos and icons. I would only like the idea of the USSR pinball if it had a retro theme. I would like it even more if it were historically based. For that game theme I think the visual style would be very important. One of the reasons I love GameProm's pinball games is because they have great visual styles.

It looks like there are a few people interested in a vintage/retro spaceflight (or U.S.S.R. vs. U.S. Space Race) theme for the next game from Gameprom. Even developer "svolskiy" expressed his pleasure with the idea.

I thought of another feature that might be cool ... Zero-G mode. At some point in the game, perhaps by achieving some milestone or hitting a "spacewalk" target, the game's gravity gets turned off for a short time. The balls would float free (not pulled downward toward the drain) and be controlled by shaking the iPhone/iTouch to bounce against obstacles. The flippers would still be active. The balls could also go into slow motion mode to simulate the way astronauts appear to move in space.

If the developers decide to "Go for launch!", then I would make the following humble request:

Make it interesting, but not to crazy hard. In my opinion, you've hit the sweet spot with TDP. It is the perfect balance of complexity and ease of play. There are many interesting interactive features, but they are easy enough for the player to aim for and hit with consistency. The ball is big enough to clearly see, and the speed is optimal. It gives the player a sense of control that he can use to strategize his play. By contrast, WWP is far too simple a layout and it is difficult to hit the sparse targets. And JSP is far too complicated and the ball moves far too fast. I have yet to complete a single one of the many interesting achievements in JSP before losing the ball.

My hope is that in creating your next game, whether it be space themed or not, you are able to successfully achieve the very difficult art of balancing playability and complexity.

Along the space lines, how about an aviation/airport theme? Aircraft taking off, sound effects for both props and jets, announcements (voice like The Deep), gate numbers and positions.

Runway numbers, clearances, take offs, landings, fire trucks, security lines, cargo terminals, refueling, maintenance, delays, etc.

Just a thought, cheers.

P.S. And thanks again for The Pinball.

I love the zero gravity idea. The iPhone is a fantastic device and that feature would fit perfectly with the iPhone's unique accelerometer controls. I love the idea of tilting my way through zero gravity missions. I also like the idea of having a "space race" where the iPhone user could pick weather he wanted to be US or USSR. There could be two different launch ramps one on the right and one on the left. Depending on the user's choice of country they would get a different launch ramp. One of the achievements/missions in the space race pinball game would be to place a flag on the moon. Depending on if the user chose US or USSR there would be different flags that could go on the moon. The other thing that I think would be good about having a space race where the user could chose to be US or USSR is that in the global highscores the flag of the chosen country could show up next to their high score and there would be a highscore competition between the two countries. Each time you play your high scores would be added to your countries total.

Close, but I'd still say that's more historical than political.

You want political? Try a 2000 US election theme. Knocking down targets or making ramps could knock "chads" off cards and lighting up all entry gates could give you another state with Florida being the big prize.

High scores could then include a donkey (democrats) or elephants (republicans) and the more scores for either side would mean a greener planet (Al Gore) or military action (George Bush).

Just a thought. ;)

Cheers.
